WAYS WE SERVE
We serve communities around the Gwayi River by partnering with local schools as centers of childhood development, education, and care. Through these school-based efforts, we feed children and vulnerable elderly community members, host volunteer trips that provide hands-on support, and invest in long-term infrastructure. By digging wells, installing water tanks, and implementing solar-powered pumps, we help ensure schools have access to clean, sustainable water—creating lasting impact for students and their communities.

Above all, we believe the greatest need is spiritual. We share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, distribute Bibles, and strengthen local churches by encouraging and equipping pastors and congregations. Our mission is to serve whole communities—meeting physical needs while pointing people to the lasting hope found in Jesus.

EDUCATION SUPPORT
Education is a powerful pathway out of poverty and into opportunity. We support local schools by helping provide desks, benches, supplies, and improvements to classrooms. By partnering with schools in the Gwayi River region, we aim to create environments where students can learn, grow, and pursue a brighter future.
Building Benches & Desks
New Life Community Services and other sponsors donate chipboard, screws, equipment, and other supplies to help our volunteer teams build desks & benches for local schools.

Painting Classrooms
Many South African businesses donate various paint products and materials to assist us in revamping local school classrooms.
Sports Programes
Our volunteers facilitate a sports clinics at various schools in the area, teaching the school children basic sports skills and the value of teamwork.

Clothing Donations
Many schools in Cape Town donate used school uniforms and clothing which is sorted and donated to the Gwayi River community and local schools.

DAILY SUSTENANCE
Many families in rural Zimbabwe face ongoing food insecurity. Through our daily sustenance programs, we provide essential food supplies—such as maize meal—to vulnerable children, the elderly, and families in need. These efforts ensure that those most at risk receive nourishment and support while also strengthening the wider community.
School Feeding Program
Todd Martin and other sponsors help raise funds for our school feeding program. In some instances these funds enable us to support the local farmers by buying their hand grown maize, which in turn help them afford other household necessities. We then distribute that maize to several underprivileged schools in the area, providing the only a meal a child receives per day. Our feeding program directly supports childhood education while stimulating the economy. We have been providing daily meals to hundreds of kids in local schools for over 10 years.

Elderly Feeding (Gogo & Kulu)
Grandparents often carry the greatest burdens in struggling communities. Many sacrifice everything for their children and grandchildren, sometimes going hungry themselves so the younger ones can eat. We have witnessed this reality firsthand and shared the need with our sponsors, who responded with incredible generosity. Because of their support, we are able to provide Mellie meal (maize) to elderly community members through our Elderly Feeding Program. This simple but powerful act not only brings nourishment, but also reminds these precious grandparents that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

SPIRITUAL CARE
Meeting physical needs is important, but we also believe in caring for the spiritual well-being of the communities we serve. Through prayer, encouragement, discipleship, and partnership with local leaders and churches, we share the message of hope found in Christ. Our goal is to support and strengthen local faith communities so that transformation continues long after each outreach visit.

Bible Donations
Through our outreach, we raise funds to provide Bibles in the language people understand, helping bring Scripture to those who long for it. Your support blesses individuals and families with the gift of God’s Word, offering hope, encouragement, and guidance in their daily lives.
Bible School
We hold regular Bible studies and prayer meetings in local schools and have experienced no restrictions on ministry. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to freely share the gospel and invite students to become followers of Christ.

WATER PROVISION
Access to clean water is essential for life and for the health of a community. Through our water initiatives, we dig wells, install water tanks, and implement solar-powered pumping systems that provide reliable and sustainable water sources. These projects serve schools, churches, and villages in the Gwayi River region, helping families avoid contaminated water, reduce disease, and build healthier communities.
Wells & Water Access
We raise funds for the drilling/digging of wells(boreholes) and establishing solar pump infrastructure (the only safe water-source for many communities). We have been able to replace aging and failing hand pump systems at multiple schools with a solar-powered system serving the school children.

COMMUNITY CARE
We support practical needs through initiatives such as reading glasses, medical kits, and community development projects, including introducing new crops that help strengthen local livelihoods.
Reading Glasses
Thanks to our great USA donors we are able to provide basic reading glasses to people who with age have lost their ability to read with ease. The double blessing is that we test their eyes with the donated Bibles and many are able to read God's Word for the first time.

Medical Kits
Medical kits containing basic medicines and first aid supplies are not just donated—they are brought directly to each homestead, where our team meets with every family to explain the purpose and proper use of each item. We demonstrate when and how to use the medicines and supplies, ensuring families understand how to care for themselves safely.
Special Projects
In addition to the above, we are also involved in special projects to serve the community and empower our team in serving. These projects include raising funds for the digging of wells (the only safe water-source for many communities), launching a sewing & woodwork school, community building projects as well as the construction and maintenance of our volunteer camp (a critical base for our volunteer teams).
