OUR STORY
In 1974, Henry Nel Jnr first put his foot down in the insignificant settlement of Gwayi River not knowing that this would eventually be the place where "the difference would be made". Now for over 30 years, the Nel family alongside New Life Community Services (NGO) has served the greater area of Gwayi River (Zimbabwe) and have come to call the local community their friends and family.

Our involvement and commitment to the Gwayi River community is motivated by servant hearts. Learning to be a servant of all is truly an incredible revelation and a constant motivation for all we do. Even as we look back over the last 30 years of Zimbabwe’s economic and political challenges, we have served the community of Gwayi River through it all. We really believe that the server experiences a greater fulfillment than those being served. Since the establishment of the Zimbabwe Outreach in 2000, we have overseen the participation of over numerous volunteer teams who have experienced this serving which has helped enrich and foster genuine relationships within the Gwayi River community. Our motto is that, "it is more blessed to give than receive".
Zimbabwe Outreach is an initiative that aims to build the greater area of Gwayi River - spirit, soul and body - by uplifting and serving the local community and schools. Students and adult volunteers build on the four pillars of our vision.

OUR CAMP
Over the many years of serving the Gwayi River community, the community headman and village heads offered a piece of african bush along the Gwayi river to build a volunteer camp. This beautiful remote bush camp is situated near to local villages and farmlands which overlooks the Gwayi River. We have 10 large two-man tents with a double/single beds in each, separate restrooms with running hot water for boys and girls and a large dining area where we are served all our home-cooked meals by Natalia and our cook, Freddie. Lastly, our fire pit is famous for hosting many campfire games and stories.
